We took a trip to a great grappling tournament down in Toldeo, Ohio, the Buckeye Border. Both Amy and I had a great showing, both scoring second place. My second matches was by far the closest and most fun matches I have ever rolled in competition. Thanks Rodney!
I want to take time to personally thank all of my instructors and every single student and coach at MAGIC BJJ for helping me grow as a grappler. Even though matches are all one on one, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a team sport, and in my opinion we have one of the best teams with more comradery than any school can offer!
Special thanks to Deon Thompson for not only convincing me to compete, but putting on such a great tournament.

Dojo expansion and more!

It has been a few weeks since I have had a chance to update the website, but I wanted to let everyone know that there are some fantastic things going on at MAGIC BJJ!
- The first item I want to announce is the dojo expansion! In the first few weeks of August we will easily doubling our space at our current location. We will have double the mat space, a seating area, cubbies for equipment and bags, and eventually showers! Most importantly, our mat space will DOUBLE what we have right now.
- Secondly, we will be moving to a new school management system which will allow for us to accept credit cards or choose automatic withdrawal of tuition for those interested.
- Lastly, the website update is coming. I have the design down and am just missing content. Those that want to contribute or have some ideas on how to improve the site, please get with me. I will be consolidating pictures of classes, instructors, seminars, and tournaments over the next few weeks. If you have any that you would like to contribute, certainly do so. I will also be looking for others to write for the blog so that we can consistently keep content updated about whats going on at MAGIC BJJ and in the Jiu-Jitsu community as well!
